ONU wrestlers hold Toys for Tots drive during Saturday's invitational

The Ohio Northern wrestling team will hold a Toys for Tots drive during the 34th Annual ONU Invitational on Saturday.

The invitational will take place in the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse and will begin at 9 am.

Fans who donate a new toy, still in its original box, will gain free entry to the invitational.

Tickets for the event are $6 for adults and $4 for students.

All proceeds from the tournament will also be donated to Toys for Tots.

Toys for Tots is a national charitable organization that annually collects toys to give to needy children around the United States, specific to the area in which they are collected.

Kenton chosen by Sekisui Plastics USA for $5.2 million expansion project

Citing increased customer demand for its products in the Midwest region of the U.S., Sekisui Plastics USA, Inc., (SPUS) has chosen Kenton  as the location for its new $5.2 million manufacturing facility.  

Scheduled to come online in July, 2015, the plant will initially produce foam products molded mainly from Piocelan® hybrid moldable foam resin, for use in automotive parts, baby seat core parts, and other industrial markets such as protective packaging. 

Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles now knows "St Nik" lives in Ada

The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) officially recognizes Ada resident, Richard Gainey, as Santa Claus.

The BMV recently picked Gainey’s license plate “ST NIK” as its fifth “What’s on Your Plate?” winner.

Gainey will soon be featured on the BMV’s Web site, Facebook and Twitter pages. He will also receive a decorative license plate with the personalization of his choice.

“Santa” Gainey, was selected for his personalized plate “ST NIK.” In his other life, he is a Professor of Multimedia Journalism at Ohio Northern University. 

Have a tall Christmas

As you know, Christmas trees come in all sizes. Here's perhaps the tallest Christmas tree in Ada this season. It's in the lobby of The Freed Center for Performing Arts at Ohio Northern University.
