ONU musicians present “Something for Everyone” Dec. 10

Ohio Northern University presents
‘Something for Everyone’

The Ohio Northern University Department of Music presents an eclectic evening of music, “Something for Everyone,” in the Snyder Recital Hall in the Presser Building on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature several ONU seniors, Elizabeth Druesedow, a music performance major from Sharon Center, Ohio; Brandon Guillen, a mathematical statistics major from Lima, Ohio; and Nicole Wells, a music performance major from Germantown, Ohio, in a chamber-music setting.

Dog gone

Dec. 6 was a a day of mixed emotions for students in the Ohio Northern University College of Engineering, but a good day for 4 Paws For Ability.

This fall ONU students in the College of Engineering became involved in training Viking, a now nine-month-old golden retriever.

Viking graduated from the program on Friday, and according to the department’s Facebook, “We had to say goodbye to Viking. One of his handlers, civil engineering student Matt Stroh, brought Viking to the Dean's Office for some final goodbyes.”

Viking is now on a journey to become a service dog for disabled child.

Vicki Gilbert named branch manager at Liberty National Bank, Ada

Vicky Gilbert recently joined Liberty National Bank as vice president/branch manager and loan officer in the Ada office, according to Ronald L. Zimmerly, Jr., president and CEO of the bank.

She has worked in banking since 1978 with 18 of those years at Liberty National Bank. She rejoined Liberty National Bank on Dec. 1. Throughout her career, she held many banking positions and learned about the banking industry with each different role, such as bookkeeping, teller, loan administrator, loan officer and branch manager.
