Fay Bassitt was married on horseback at 1947 Labor Day Rodeo in Ada

Laura Fay Bassitt, 88, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at 4:24 p.m., at the Lost Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center. Fay was born June 13, 1927 in Hardin County, Ohio, to Charles R. and Pearl R. (Peggs) Johnson who preceded her in death.
  
Fay and Robert E. (Bob) Bassitt, Sr. were married on horseback at the Labor Day Rodeo in Ada on Sept. 1, 1947. They were together for over 67 years when Robert died on April 7, 2015.

University ranks high in state, nation in 2015 Payscale College Salary Report

Ohio Northern University has been ranked fourth in the “Best Colleges in Ohio” rankings, and placed in the top 10 percent nationally, in the new 2015-16 PayScale College Salary Report.

According to the same report, ONU ranks third among Ohio schools in the number of science technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) degrees awarded.

Fall class registration is underway now at Miss Vicki’s Music Studio, 2613 State Route 81 (North Street), Ada.

Fall classes being Tuesday, Sept. 22, according to Vicki Mills, studio owner. Registrations taken by Tuesday, Sept. 15 save $15.

Several Ada connections to Women L.E.A.D - county program for women professionals

The Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance Women Members this week announce a new board-approved program and organization, within its Chamber Division, called Women L.E.A.D. “Women Leading Women Forward.” 

Women L.E.A.D. will strive to be Hardin County's premier women's group, providing networking, collaborations, educational workshops, and guest speakers for current and prospective women members of the Alliance. 

Topics will range from how to start a new business and entrepreneurship opportunities to career and leadership development.

Abby Neville wins 3rd place in Versatility class at fair

Abigail Neville receives 3rd place in the Versatility class at the Allen County Fair last week.

Abby and her horse, Docs Sug O'Pine, competed in four events, Hunt Seat Equitation, Horsemanship, Reining and Barrel Racing.
