T.J. Smull College of Engineering programs re-accredited by ABET

Ohio Northern University’s bachelor’s degree programs in civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering have been re-accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering and engineering technology.

In addition, ONU’s bachelor’s degree program in computer science has been re-accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission by ABET, and the T.J. Smull College of Engineering’s program in engineering education received its initial accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

Monty Siekerman: Insight in unexpected places

Sometimes you find insight in unexpected places.

I recently attended a gathering of writers and artists at ONU, but came away with some insight about my job, which is neither writing poetry nor putting beautiful lines on canvas.

I learned to look at my job differently, my job as a simple gardener at the Railroad Depot Park.
Sure, I love gardening, seeing the beautiful flowers bloom, watching mothers push baby carriages through the park, business people scurrying to work, students walking dogs (even one guy with a cat on a leash).

Citrus Bowl - here we come; four from Hardin County HEAT

Four members of the Hardin County HEAT cheerleading squad will perform in the 2016 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.

The four are students at Ada Middle School, Hardin Northern Middle School, Kenton Elementary School and Ridgemont Middle School. Hardin County HEAT Cheerleading is a program of the Hardin County Family YMCA, Kenton. There are four squads comprised of 25 members, ages 3 (preschool) to 15 (10th grade).

Ada HS girls' tennis "Serve for the Cure" match Sept. 23 for Amelia Griffin benefit

The Ada High School girls' yennis team will dedicate their match against Lima Central Catholic to "Serve for the Cure" for the benefit of Amelia Griffin, according to Scott Wills, coach.  

The match against Lima Central Catholic will start at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23. 

There will be a bake sale in conjunction with the home tennis match along with serving contests for kids and adults with all proceeds to support Amelia. 

Free pizza is being donated by Padrone's Pizza for attendees.  General donations are encouraged and accepted as well.
