Ada village accepting applications for summer pool jobs

Applications are  being accepted for several positions at the Ada swimming pool for this summer.

Positions include: pool manager, assistant managers, lifeguards and cashiers. The pool will open on May 28 and continue open until Aug. 13.

ONU business students assist with tax preparation for qualified persons

Taxpayers in Hardin and surrounding counties can find free income tax assistance from Ohio Northern University business students through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).

The VITA Program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally $54,000 and below) individuals across the country who cannot prepare tax returns on their own.

As part of this program, ONU students receive training and become IRS-certified to help prepare basic and intermediate tax returns and identify special credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly.

Village officials address water customers' questions: Yes, village is in compliance

Worried about Ada's water quality? Don't worry.

Village of Ada officials assures water customers that Ada's water is in compliance with the regulations requred by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

An announcement from the village addresses lead and copper and the continual testing of its drinking water.

ONU grad leads Friday afternoon website basics workshop

A few openings remain in Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs website basics workshop planned from noon to 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19.

Ohio Northern University graduate, Ryan Lowry of Bluffton leads the workshop. A second workshop, takes place on Friday, Feb. 26. The sessions are in the BCE office, 110 S. Main St., Bluffton.

Both workshops cover the same information. These are offered on different dates to accommodate more participants.
