Bulldog boys basketball corralled by Rangers

ADA__Playing at home, the Ada High School boys basketball team lost 65-40 to hot-shooting New Knoxville on a rare Tuesday night game, December 19.

The young Bulldogs fell to 0- 6 with the non-league defeat.

Bulldog girls basketball rallies, wins vs. Vanlue

VANLUE__The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team outscored Vanlue 14-9 in the fourth period to pull off a 53-49 non-conference victory Tuesday night, December 19.

The Bulldog girls snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 4-5 with the win. The Wildcat girls dropped to 1-6 after the loss.

Bulldogs wrestlers compete at Hardin County tri-match

KENTON__The Ada High School wrestling team split a triangular match at Kenton with Riverdale Tuesday evening, December 19.

The Bulldogs beat the Falcons 33-15 but lost to the host Wildcats, 45-18.

ADA__The inexperienced Ada boys basketball team rallied late but lost a tough 49-42 battle to visiting Perry Saturday night, December 16.

The young Bulldogs fell to 0- 5 overall with the non-league defeat.

Bulldog wrestlers 8th at Lancer Invite

McClain wins at 150, Riblet and Vieira 2nd in their divisions

MIDDLE POINT __The Ada High School wrestling team finished a solid eighth at the 15-team Lincolnview Lancer Invitational meet Saturday.

Senior Clayton McClain won the 150 lbs. title to pace the Bulldog grapplers. Silas Riblet and Liam Vieira took second in their respective weight divisions.

McClain won each of his three pool play matches by pin to advance to the final four at the 150 lbs. division. He ended up pinning Levi Grace of Crestview at 3:43 in the championship bout to end the day 5-0.

Riblet was 3-0 in pool play at 113 lbs., and went 4-1 overall after losing in the championship match by a 17-6 majority decision.

At the 144 lbs. bracket, Vieira won his three pool matches, all by pin. He then advanced to the final where he lost by pin to finish 4-1 on the day.

Andy Fries named head Football coach at Ohio Northern

Ohio Northern University named Andy Fries as its head football coach on Tuesday, December 12.

Fries (pronounced FREEZE) is the 29th head coach in the 129-year history of Ohio Northern football and is just the school's fourth head coach in the past 38 years.
