McGUFFEY - Visiting Ada lost a 58-52 non-league battle at traditional rival Upper Scioto Valley Saturday night in a non-league boys basketball contest.
USV led 17-10 after one period of play, and held a 28-20 edge at halftime. Ada pulled within 44-39 heading to the fourth period but could not completely close the gap.
Ada dropped to 5-8 overall with the tough loss. USV improved to 8-6 with their second close win over the Bulldogs in a 15-day span, both at McGuffey.

DELPHOS - Visiting Ada rallied from a 22-point deficit late only to lose 59-57 at Delphos Jefferson in a Northwest Conference boys basketball battle Friday night.
Bulldog senior post Jake Rayl sank a field goal in the final second of play to pull Ada within 58-57. After the Bulldogs fouled with 0.4 left, DJ made the first free throw and missed the second to hang on for the win.
Ada fell to 5-7 overall and 1-2 in the NWC with the tough loss. DJ improved to 4-7 and 2-0 in the NWC with the victory.

ADA - Visiting Delphos Jefferson raced to a 20-2 lead at Ada and cruised to a 54-26 win in Northwest Conference girls basketball action Thursday evening.
Sophomore guard Aly Lindeman scored eight points to help DJ gain a 15-2 lead in the opening four minutes.
A three-pointer by senior Addy Stewart was followed by a Delaney Deuel fast break layin off a nice Stewart pass that built a commanding 20-2 Wildcat bulge with 2:11 left in the opening stanza.
The closest the Lady Bulldogs got after the early onslaught was 36-22 on a right wing trifecta by Courtney Sumner with just over five minutes left in the third quarter.
The Ohio Northern women's basketball team enjoyed a balanced scoring effort and assist-filled night Wednesday inside the ONU Sports Center. A dozen Polar Bears tallied a point and, as a team, they dished out 19 assists en route to a 70-42 win over Heidelberg.
The victory improved Northern to 10-2 on the season and 4-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play and stretched its win streak to four games. The loss dropped Heidelberg to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in conference action.

LIMA - The Ada girls swim team swept host Bath and Bluffton in a triangular meet Wednesday night at the Lima YMCA.
The Lady Bulldog swimmers beat the Bluffton Swim Club 87-66 and downed Lima Bath, 78-68. Meanwhile, the Bulldog boys whipped Bath 85-48 but lost a close dual meet to Bluffton, 76-67.
Ada beat Bath 163-116 in the boys and girls combined scoring, and the Bulldog boys and girls also edged Bluffton 154-142 in combined action. Bluffton beat Lima Bath 147-121 in the combined standings.
The Bluffton boys beat Bath 85-46 and edged Ada 76-67. The BSC girls lost to Bath 75-62 and fell to Ada 78-68.
The Ohio Northern women's basketball team received extremely strong play from its bench Saturday against John Carroll. The Polar Bears claimed a 62-55 victory, as their bench outscored the Blue Streaks' 41-0 inside the ONU Sports Center
"They were outstanding," ONU head coach Michele Brand said. "We pride ourselves on being able to play 10 girls. I don't get focused on who starts or who comes off the bench, but (the bench) did a really great job tonight. They really helped us out."
Freshman Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) poured in a career-high 13 points,
