Ohio Northern senior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) was named to the NCAA Division III Academic All-America Second Team in women's track and field and cross country by the College Sports Information Directors of America for the 2021-22 season.
The Academic All-America Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.
Pitcovich, an accounting major who competes on the track and field and cross country teams at ONU, boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA and was selected by CoSIDA to the Academic All-District 7 First Team in May.
The Ada boys summer swim team defeated visiting Wapakoneta on a hot and hazy Thursday night, June 16, in West Ohio Aquatic League action at the municipal pool.
The Alligator boys dunked Wapak, 209-134.
But the Waves won the girls meet 216-103, and the visitors captured the overall combined boys-girls competition by a 350-312 score.

The Ada-Lost Creek Gator swim team opened the 2022 summer season at home against Bluffton’s Sardines in a West Ohio Aquatic League dual meet on Thursday night, June 9 at the Ada Municipal Pool.
Bluffton won the meet 465-274, the combined boys-girls team scores. The boys balance was 235-153, while the girls scores were 230-121.

Fall youth soccer registration opened online on June 1 and will continue through June 30, according to the Ada Soccer Association. Late registration will run from July 1 - 9, and a non-refundable fee will also be added at that time.
To register, you must have a certified copy of your child's birth certificate at the time of registration if this is their first time playing. Copies can be purchased at the county health department in which the child was born.
Coaches can also register when they register a child. Click the link that says "Register Team Staff/Volunteer."
Several Ada track and field team members competed in the Div. III region 10 meet Wednesday and Friday at Port Clinton.
Sophomore Julian Grose finished seventh in the boys 300-meter hurdle finals to post the top Ada finish after coming in sixth in preliminary heats Wednesday.
Grose tallied the two points Ada scored in the meet.
Lady Bulldog junior Courtney Sumner ended up 12th in the girls long jump finals Friday with a best leap of 14-11.25.
