"Titanic" discussion at public library June 5

Ada residents won't take a ride on the Titanic, but they will meet in June a discuss the maiden voyage of the ship.

The meeting is the next Ada Public Library book discussion. The discussion is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, at the library. The book being discussed is Walter Lord's "A Night to Remember.

June 9 wine and food pairing at The Inn

The Inn at ONU will host a 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 9, wine and food pairing event, featuring an outstanding selection of fine wins nd food. Cost is $45 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance. Reservations are required and may be made by calling The Inn at 419-772-2500.

Rhythm in Motion spring recital tickets on sale; check the studio Saturday for 2012-13 class plans

Darcey Schneider of Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre, Main Street, Ada, reminds Icon viewers to stop in the Centre on Saturday, May 5, anytime from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to purchase tickets for the Centre’s spring recital and to obtain information on fall classes.

Schneider said that the spring show is at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at Lima Senior High School. All seats are reserved. Pre-sale tickets are $9 on May 5. After the 5th tickets are $11 each.

Stratton Greenhouses open house May 4-6

Stratton Greenhouses invite Icon viewers to its spring open house Friday through Sunday, May 4-5-6.

The popular greenhouse at 9915 Lincoln Highway is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays in May.

During the open house a free tomato plant comes with every purchase. Free garden gloves come with every purchase $150 purchase. Strattons has its typical outstanding selection of specialty plants including many hanging baskets in all sizes.

Three community groups joined efforts to create the first-ever fun Run for ReStore fund raiser set for 10 a.m., Saturday, May 5, in Ada.

The race, which is still accepting entrants, is sponsored by Ada Restore, ONU Fellowship of Christian Athletes and ONU’s Tau Beta Pi engineers.

Public library opens search for new director

The Ada Public Library board has announced its search for a new director to replace Michael Limer, who recently took a positilon in another library.

According to Sharon Music, director of the library board, the position requires an accredited MLS/MLIS degree and the deadline for applications to be accepted is May 11.
