Time to starting planning your Lincoln Highway BUY-WAY yard sale

It’s almost time again to sign up for the Lincoln Highway BUY-WAY Yard Sale.

This year the event runs from Thursday, Aug. 9 through Saturday, Aug. 11. Registration is free and easy and gets your yard sale advertised along with thousands along the historic Lincoln Highway that meanders through Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

Simply call the Ada water department at 419-634-4045 and mention your address and the days of your yard sale.

On the week of the sale, Lincoln Highway BUY-WAY Yard Sale volunteers from the Ada area will plant an official yard sale sign in your yard (which they will collect after your sale).

Ada's Community Garden looking good after HOBY volunteers do their thing

June 9 was another picture-perfect Saturday. A work crew of a dozen volunteers, gardeners, and coordinators gathered at the 121 S. Johnson St. community garden to add compost to the garden beds, clean up hedge rows around the perimeter, and repaint a table for the deck.

Upon learning that a group of high school students would be available to serve in Ada on June 9, Joan Zachariah - ReStore Community Center’s Village Garden Coordinator - worked with former coordinator and current AmeriCorps VISTA member serving at ReStore, Julie Brewer, to plan for a workday.

The Inn at ONU offers busy June schedule of events

To continue to meet its guests’ needs, The Inn will undergo building improvements and enhancements over the summer.

These will be completed in four phases. The Inn will continue to operate as normal during the first two phases of the work.

The third phase begins July 27 and will be completed late August. During the third phase, The Inn's culinary services will be closed; therefore, any room reservations made during the third phase will be reduced by $10 per person.
