ONU students can help you on Civic Engagement Day Aug. 24 - here's the details

Do you have a service project around your home or business that would benefit from student volunteers from Ohio Northern University?

Ada Civic Engagement Day, where ONU students volunteer, is Saturday, Aug. 24. Ada businesses and residents may register for a volunteer to help out on that day.

The types of service projects include (these are examples):

• Painting
• landscaping
• planting trees
• cleaning
• cooking

Businesses and residents are responsible for providing materials, tools and instructions and supervision. Registration is underway now through Aug. 1. 

Ohio Cart Parts-N-More officially open for business - grand opening June 8

Ohio Cart Parts-N-More, LLC, held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on June 8.The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce conducted the ribbon cutting and the Hardin County Ambassadors were in attendance.

Ohio Cart Parts sells used golf carts, street legal accessories as well as OEM, aftermarket parts and accessories. Specialize in making your cart stand out from the crowd. Their pricing is affordable and the quality is great. Business hours are Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. till noon. Ohio Cart Parts-N-More is owned by Janice Clemons.

Music on Main - a little fun and music at the Depot

if you missed Friday's Music on Main, a summer program of the Buy Ada First ad hoc committee, fear not. The next Music on Main at the Ada Depot is Friday, July 12, same time, same station.

This is the second year the Buy Ada First committee scheduled the event downtown. The idea of the one-evening a month in the summer is to get people downtown and have some fun, while shopping Ada businesses.

The committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are open to interested community residents.

Gene Autry Days comes to Hardin County Fairgrounds June 22-23

Now in its 20th year, Gene Autry Days take place Saturday and Sunday, June 22 and 23, at the Hardin County Fairgrounds, Kenton.

Non-stop entertainment will be provided throughout the two days. The schedule includes: Les Gilliam; Call of the West, with Jeanne Cahill and Jerome Campbell; John Buttram; Paul Belanger; Miss Devon & the Outlaw, Devon Dawson and Outlaw Jessie Del; and Kristyn Harris.

The good times will roll Friday at the Depot

Music on Main is back!

The Buy Ada First committee has an evening of family entertainment planned in downtown Ada from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 14.

Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and spend time with friends and neighhbors in The Depot parking lot on Main Street Ada. Music will be provided by WONB 94.9 FM. Music will include '50s through today.

The Ada Rotary Club will hold a chicken barbecue dinner fundraiser at Hays Insurance on Friday, in conjunction with the event. Music on Main participants may purchase a dinner and eat it in The Depot parking lot if they wish.

Severe storms late today into Thursday; high-impact squall line likely tonight

A major severe weather outbreak - including a squall line
tonight - is expected for AEP's East Utilities. The threat area has been
expanded to include all of AEP's East Utilities.  Several disturbances
traversing the top of a hot upper-level ridge will trigger the severe
weather.
