Mercy Health-St. Rita’s scholarship program is accepting applications

Deadline is February 24

Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center is now accepting applications for its 2023 scholarship program. The program for high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2023, allocates twelve $1,500 scholarships to students who are interested in pursuing careers as medical professionals. In addition to being awarded financial support, students will be connected to team members at St. Rita’s and invited to attend special events and activities related to health care.

Scam pretending to be Find a Ride

Area residents report receiving calls seeking donations for Find A Ride Program 

Lima, OH–Area residents have reported receiving calls from individuals claiming to be from the Find A Ride Program and soliciting donations.

The Find A Ride Program and Area Agency on Aging 3 does not contact via phone to solicit donations. Please do not give bank or credit card information to anyone over the phone that claims to seek donations on behalf of Find A Ride or the Area Agency on Aging 3.

ODNR asks Ohioans to share outdoor recreation preferences

COLUMBUS, Ohio – People have been spending a lot of time outdoors in Ohio, whether it’s kayaking, camping, hiking, fishing, or swimming. There are just two weeks left to let the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) know what you want to see more of in the great outdoors. The statewide survey to contribute to Ohio’s State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) is available through the end of January 2023.

Autonomous vehicles to be tested on Ohio rural roads

Drivers may soon see automated vehicles on rural roadways in central and southeast Ohio as DriveOhio's Rural Automated Driving Systems (ADS) project begins two deployments to gather data that will help define future technology needs.

Automated vehicle technology is revolutionizing the transportation industry, including the way that goods move, and people travel. While most automated driving systems have been tested in urban areas, there’s still much to learn about how automated vehicles operate in rural areas when navigating around curves, over hills, and in and out of shaded areas.
