Ada Academic Boosters September meeting recap

The Ada School academic boosters reports the following on their September 8 meeting:

Last night we had another fun meeting with a few new faces. How exciting!

Our new Elementary Principal, Jeremy Clark, got to join and he brought so many smiles!

We want to thank every member that has sent in their membership so far. Our drive is going well and memberships are still coming in. If you would like more info please contact Sara Bryan and she will get info to you. Thank you again! Your support is much appreciated.

Our community NEEDS YOU!!

As many of you know, your Upper Scioto Valley 911 service has operated as Alger EMS and Roundhead EMS for many years. In June of 2021, we merged together to become one. Your community 911 service is now Upper Scioto Valley Ambulance District. With that being said, we are still operating BOTH stations.

SR 195 to be restricted by drainage work

MCGUFFEY—ODOT District 1 has announced the following construction project for the week of September 6. 

State Route 195 between the village of McGuffey and State Route 309 will be restricted to one lane for drainage work.

Due to the Labor Day holiday, no work is planned for Monday, September 5. All outlined work is weather permitting.

August 31 is Opioid Awareness Day

The State of Ohio marks August 31 as Ohio Overdose Awareness Day, "an opportunity to remember loved ones lost to an overdose, recognize those who have a substance use disorder and are working toward recovery." It's also a good time to become more familiar with the resources available for those in crisis.

RecoveryOhio, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and the Ohio Department of Health have partnered to launch www.naloxone.ohio.gov, a new website that streamlines the process of requesting the lifesaving drug, naloxone, that can reverse an opioid overdose.

Hardin County Road 10 closed between SR 235 and TR 55

The Hardin County Engineer has announced that starting August 29, the following road closure will take place:

  • Couty Road 10 between State Route 235 (west) and Townshp Road 55 (east)

The road will be closed for 2-3 weeks for culvert replacements.

Ada Academic Boosters seek to raise $1,000 with spirit wear

The Ada Academic boosters have an online spirit wear sale with the goal of raising $1,000 in support of academic activities at the Ada Schools.
