The September Ada school newsletter is on Ada Bulldogs Facebook. Here are some of the highlights.
Parent drop-off change: For the safety and security of our students and staff, beginning Monday, Sept. 9, the parent drop-off point for students in the morning will only be the foyer or office.
Parents will no longer be permitted to accompany their child to their classrooms. If a parent needs to speak with a teacher, they will need to make an appointment through the office secretary.
School fees: School fees should be paid as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact the office.
An Ada location is one of four in Hardin County offering preschool screening for the 2019-20 school year.
Ada Exempted Village School, 725 W North Ave., will offer screening on Thursday, Sept. 13, in the Administration building. The screening is through the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center.
Screening is for children up and including 5 years old. Call Midwest Regional ESC to schedule an appointment at 937-599-5195, extension 3020 or email Penny Carrig at [email protected].
The Icon's poetic license is not limited to Ohio plates. Here's one we spotted recently on a Virginia vehicle. We've translated it for viewers: UVA (University of Virginia), HSC (Hampden-Sydney College). The coat of arms is Hampden-Sydney's, a men's school in Virginia.
The staff, volunteers and board of the ReStore Community Center invites
the community to join in celebration Tuesday, Sept. 10, as the Center celebrates its grand reopening and rededication under its new - and yet to be announced - name.
The decision was made by the ReStore’s board of directors to rename the center earlier this summer to differentiate itself from other national charities.
“(The ReStore) was born out of a feeling of love, and a desire to reach out an assist those in need,” Robert Kanzig, executive director, said.
“The hope always has been, and always will be to show any in need the love
and compassion demonstrated by Jesus Christ.”
David Retterer, Ada mayor, called a special council meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Ada Historic Depot. The purpose of the meeting is to enter into executive session under ORC 121.22(g)(1), terms of employment.
