Sidewalk and curb project in front of major work on SR 235 and 81 coming soon

You've noticed work on sidewalks at street intersections underway this week in Ada. The project involves installation fo curb ramps and concrete sidewalks.

Here more details:

State Route 81 and state Route 235 within the village of Ada will be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for installation of curb ramps and concrete sidewalks.

The work is associated with a larger project to resurface state Route 81 and state Route 235 in and around Ada, as well as state Route 701 in its entirety.

Resurfacing work is expected to begin in mid-August. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

Bridge replacement underway on Hardin County Road 50

Hardin County Road 50 (Liberty Township Road 55-County Road 65) is closed for 6-8 weeks for bridge replacement, according to the Hardin County Engineer's office.

Ada school board meets July 25

The Ada school board will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 25, according to Meri Skilliter, Ada school superintendent.

Recent trends in safety, demographics, and demand have spurred the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to develop its first-ever policy plan for walking and biking. Stakeholder and public engagement will help ensure that policies and investments meet the needs of people walking and biking.

The Walk.Bike.Ohio plan will guide Ohio's bike and pedestrian transportation policies and investments in infrastructure and programs. It is looking at current and potential programs and policies, not at specific projects.

Liberty Township receives less rain in June that other Hardin townships

For the growing season since April 15, the average precipitation in all the townships was 16.29 inches, with a wide range from 12.82 inches in Liberty Township to 19.23 inches in Pleasant Township

Hardin County Extension rainfall reporters recorded an average of 7.08 inches of rain in Hardin County during June, according to Mark Badertscher, extension agent.

Last year, the average rainfall for June was 6.09 inches. Rainfall for June 2019 was 1.46 inches more than the ten-year average rainfall in the month of June.  

Dudley Township received 10.24 inches, the most of the township sites. The least rain in June, 4.51 inches was collected in Liberty Township.
