The countdown to a Thanksgiving break at Ada schools is underway. Several activities, however take place in the school before the break.
Parent-teacher conferences span two days. The first is Monday, Nov. 25, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. The second is on a no-school day, Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Elementary school book fair is open from Wednesday, Nov. 20, to Tuesday, Nov. 26. Every purchase from the book fair earns rewards for the school. Hours are:
Wednesday-Friday, 8:45 a.m.-3:45 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 25, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 26, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
But, did you know it's ranked 7th safety city in Ohio?

According to figures based upon FBI crime data, including violent crime and property, an organization called HomeSnacks rates Ada as the 7th safety city in Ohio.
Although Ada is technically a village, the data includes Ohio Northern University students, which bumps up the population above 5,000, making Ada a city.

Bell ringers need: No experience necessary, except for a desire to ring a bell and help change a life.
The Hardn County Salvation Army Unit invites Ada area residents to volunteer as a holiday bell ringer in November and December in Ada, according to Kathy Reese chairperson.
“Ada bell ringers are needed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on five dates this season," said Reese.

Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise Pharmacy offers free blood pressure checks this month as the pharmacy has a special focus in November on hypertension.
For a free blood pressure check, stop in at the pharmacy, 511 W. Lincoln Ave, Ada, (Raabe College of Pharmacy building). There’s free parking at the door of the pharmacy.
Pharmacy hours are Mondays through Fridays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and now open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
