Kiwanis Club hears update on First United Methodist Church

Ada Kiwanis Club members had an update on progress on the Ada First United Methodist Church project.

It was reported that the complexity of planning for a new building includes policies from the United Methodist Church denomination, including a forming a vision committee that works with the church and the community to identify needs.

It was reported that members of the congregatyion will hold three summits over the next month that includes examining the past, where are we going, and how do we get there.

Kevin Byrne, head basketball coach at Ohio Northern University was welcomed as a guest. The birthday of Sandy Neely (August 15th) was noted. The membership anniversary Myrna McCurdy (August 13, 2007) was noted. The wedding anniversary of Mark Light (August 18, 1993) was also noted.

Tabbi Jolliff will head to the University of Findlay in occupational therapy

Brandt Miller joins Liberty National as Assistant VP/Commercial and Agricultural Lender

Ronald L. Zimmerly, Jr., President and CEO of Liberty National Bank, announced the addition of an agricultural and commercial loan officer to the staff.

Brandt Miller has recently joined Liberty National Bank as Assistant Vice President/Commercial and Agricultural Lender. Miller has worked in the banking industry for 10 years in Credit Analysis and Agricultural and Commercial Lending. Brandt graduated from Allen East High School and Ohio Northern University with is BSBA in Accounting. He has also graduated from an Ag Lending School at Purdue University and School of Commercial Lending with the Ohio Bankers League.

Vicki’s Music Studio offering free preview classes Aug 25

Vicki’s Music Studio, operated by Vicki Mills, is offering free preview classes for parents and their children on Saturday, Aug. 25.  Using the Musikgarten curriculum, Mills will guide families through a variety of songs, dances, and instrument playing that prepares the foundation for musical and extra-musical learning.

On Aug. 11, Ada Kiwanis hosted a Pedal Pull at the Ada F & M picnic. Sixty-four children participated and the results are:

Class 1 (Ages 3 and 4) (these are the winners in the photo)

1st place on the left is Drake Lang from Celina, OH
2nd place in the middle is Gavin Oldfield from Ada, OH
3rd place on the right is Carson Reese from Ada, OH
