They call her Grandma

Judy Williams is an Ada school students' favorite - for 45 school years

By Monty Siekerman
Ada school children are wishing Judy Williams a happy summer.

There is a poster of her that hangs in the elementary hallway. It reads, “Help Grandma Judy Get Ready for Summer.” The kids add stickers to the poster, like an inflatable duck, to signify summer fun. In the poster, Judy is found near a pond relaxing in a lounge chair, donning a summer hat, sitting under a multicolored umbrella, and wearing unique sunglasses.

Icon dog of the week - Athena

Meet Athena. She is a ten month old female lab mix. Athena weighs 44 pounds and is available now. Can you give her a forever home?

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Hours: 9 am to 4 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Phone: 419-674-2209.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.

They came from Ada and Liberty Township

They are our Civil War veterans

That 6th grade tradition

Mulching at Railroad Park near the end of the school year

MORE PHOTOS AT THE BOTTOM!

By Monty Siekerman
Traditionally, Ada 6th graders help their Village by mulching Railroad Park a few days before school is out for the summer.

This year, the 57 students put down many buckets of black mulch for two hours on Monday afternoon to make the flower beds look even more outstanding.

“Many hands make light work” says the English proverb. Sixth grade teachers assisting were Kim Guagenti, Kristie Reichert, and Kelsie Weber substituting for Chelsea Parson.
