Ruby E. Campbell, age 81, died on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 5:40 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on February 25, 1933 in Hardin County, Ohio to Lester “Red” and Dora (Kindle) Preston and they preceded her in death. On August 2, 1952 she married Bradley Campbell and he survives in Alger.
The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law has announced the inaugural year of “Summer in Iceland,” the nation’s first American Bar Association (ABA) approved study-abroad summer program in Iceland.
More and faster trains are traveling through Ada now that the train tracks have been replaced. The Ada Police Department urges caution to motorists and pedestrians since six additional trains are now rumbling through town daily. Previously, trains traveled through Ada at 20 mph or less, but now speed along at 40 mph. The police department said there will be increased enforcement at crossings to maintain safety.
ONU indoor track team won the Joe Banks Invitational Track Meet they hosted Feb. 7 at the Sports Center, besting 10 other colleges and universities from Indiana and Ohio.
The Sports Center was a beehive of activity from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. as hundreds of athletes competed in many events.
ReStore Community Center, Main Street, Ada, will host a free wellness clinic from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 7, featuring Dr. Katie Benson. The clinic will focus on chair exercises and nutrition. (This program was originally set for Feb. 21.)
Dr. Benson has been serving Marysville and the surrounding communities since 2008. She and her husband, Josh, are natives of Hardin and Union counties, respectively.
Dr. Benson is a graduate of Ridgemont High School.
Having graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Findlay with a bachelor’s degree in Science, Dr. Benson received her doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic, also graduating Magna Cum Laude.
