University to hold CLE on ‘Ethics, Professionalism and Substance Abuse’

The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law will host a CLE on “Ethics, Professionalism and Substance Abuse” in the large moot courtroom on Friday, Sept. 25, at 12:45 p.m. The CLE will include three lectures from top professionals tackling different viewpoints on the topics.

‘The Second City Fully Loaded’ comes to The Freed Center stage Sept. 26

The Ohio Northern University Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents “The Second City Fully Loaded,” featuring a special third act with ONU’s improv group “Fearless Shenanygans,” on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 8:30 p.m. for the 2015 Homecoming performance.

Fresh, fast and always spectacularly funny​,​ The Second City brings you satire with all the bells and whistles. Featuring hilarious sketches made famous by Second City stars such as Tina Fey, Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert, this show also features new scenes straight from its sold-out shows in Chicago and Toronto.

University to hold debate on constitutionality of same-sex marriage

Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law presents a debate on the constitutionality of Obergefell v. Hodges (same-sex marriage case) in the Celebrezze Moot Court Room on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m.

The event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the ONU Law’s Federalist Society and LAMBDA. 

Lee Strang, professor of law at the University of Toledo, and Joanne Brant, professor of law at Ohio Northern University, will offer their interpretations of this historic case.

T.J. Smull College of Engineering programs re-accredited by ABET

Ohio Northern University’s bachelor’s degree programs in civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering have been re-accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering and engineering technology.

In addition, ONU’s bachelor’s degree program in computer science has been re-accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission by ABET, and the T.J. Smull College of Engineering’s program in engineering education received its initial accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

ONU receives $133,000 Cardinal Health grant to support pharmacy students

Cardinal Health has awarded the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy a $113,000 grant to provide increased support for current and future pharmacy students with an interest in community and independent pharmacy.

Ohio Northern was chosen as a recipient based on its commitment to advancing the independent pharmacy profession. The College of Pharmacy’s core curriculum, combined with its experiential learning and student-run organizations, provide unique, focused opportunities to educate students interested in independent pharmacy.

Gather poets, artists, toss in music and...

The ONU art and English departments hosted two men on Wednesday evening at the Wilson Art Center to discuss a book they collabrated on with the long title "Like a Bird Entering a Window and Leaving through Another Window."

So, how do two people successfully work together in publishing a book of writings and illustration?

Philip Terman, the poet, and James Stewart, the artist, explained that they have similar sensibilities.
