Junior Anna Niemeyer led the No. 24-ranked Ohio Northern women's soccer team as it defeated Denison 1-0 Wednesday evening in Granville at Barclay-Thomsen Field.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-0-0 overall, while the Big Red fall to 2-3-1.
Niemeyer scored the lone goal for Northern in the seventh minute as she received a pass from freshman Rose Nienaber and beat the goalie from 12 yards out to give ONU the 1-0 lead.
The Polar Bear defense would stifle the Big Red offense for the remainder of the game to seal the 1-0 victory.
The ONU defense would allow only one shot on goal during the contest.
