Centenarian Mildred Moore grew up in Ada

Graveside burial Oct. 5 in Woodlawn

Funeral services for Mildred L. James Moore, 99, Lawrence, will be held at noon, Friday Sept. 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence, Kansas.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ada. Mildred died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at her home.

She was born Feb. 3, 1920 in Ada, the daughter of Clyde and Nellie (Garwood) James.

Ronald Wolford was retired from Wilson's Sporting Goods

Ronald R. Wolford, 64, died on Sunday, Sept.15, 2019, at his residence.  

He was born on Aug. 25, 1955, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Harley and Doris (Redick) Wolford. On June 22, 1995, Ronald married Marilyn Jean Wolford and she preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 2015. 

Ronald retired from Wilson Sporting Goods of Ada.

Ronald is survived by his three brothers: Robert (Jayne) Wolford of Findlay, Larry (Janice) Wolford of Mt. Cory and David (Anna) Wolford of Forest; two sisters: Betty Barnard of Toledo and Nancy (Gary) Heacock of Forest; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Bradley L. Van Atta 1961 - 2019

Bradley L. Van Atta, 57, died on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at his residence in Ada.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1961, in Bucyrus to the late Lloyd and Mary Van Atta.      

He is survived by three sisters: Kay (John) Rettig of Ada, Christine Van Atta of Columbus, and Cathy (Steve) Decker of Westerville; and several nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to a reception to celebrate Brad’s life on Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the home of Kay and John Rettig, 5650 Township Road 55, Ada, OH 45810.  Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. 

Dennis Anspach 1942 - 2019

Dennis M. Anspach, 77,  of Bellfontaine and formerly of Ada, died on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at 6:05 a.m. at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.

He was born on April 27, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, to Charles N. and Goldie M. (Kissling) Anspach who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his two sons: Jeff Anspach of Rushylvania and Scott (Josie) Anspach of Marysville; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a brother, John Anspach of Cuyahoga Falls.

A private graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, at a later date.

Nora Ann Patton Giovinazzo was Alger postmaster until her retirement in 1993

Nora Ann Patton Giovinazzo, 85, was born on Nov. 6, 1933, in McGuffey, Ohio, to Stella Howard and George Blanton. 

She passed from this earthly life to join with our Lord in His Holy Kingdom on Sept. 7, 2019.  Nora was fortunate to grow up with many brothers and sisters.  Nora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, but above all, she was a follower of Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jeff and Carol Patton of Houston, Texas, Pamela and David Hoyman of Davenport, Florida, and John and Debby Patton of Austin, Texas. 

Thearse M. “Dolly” Lawrence funeral service on Saturday

Thearse M. “Dolly” Lawrence, 65, died on Tuesday, Sept.  10, 2019, at 6:30 a.m. at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1954, in Kenton, Ohio, to the late DeWayne and Rosie Lucille (Poe) Salsbury.  On June 25, 1977, she married James “Wink” Lawrence and he survives in Alger.  

Dolly was a homemaker that enjoyed karaoke night with her husband and friends.  She always looked forward to weekly lunches with her friends, but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
