Lois E. Linke, 1933-2013

Lois E. Linke died at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton, Ohio.

She was born on July 20, 1933, in Hardin County, Ohio , to Kenneth R. 'Skinny" and Leah M.(Hammer) Hinkle, who preceded her in death. On August 20, 1955, she married Clifton Linke and he survives in Alger, Ohio. Lois was a homemaker.

Also surviving is a daughter: Wanda Gerlach of Kenton, OH; two grandchildren: Ryan (Lisa) Gerlach and Steven Gerlach; and 3 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by: a son-in-Law, Ron Gerlach, a brother, Dean Hinkle and a sister, Leota Newland.

Four sign-up dates set for Ada fall soccer

Ada fall soccer sign-up will start soon at the Ada Park shelter house, according to Mark Light, director of Ada soccer.

Dates and times follow:

• Saturday, June 22 - 9-10:30 a.m.
• Monday, June 24 - 4:30-6 p.m.
• Thursday, June 27 - 4:30-6 p.m.
   (Before  home swim meet)
• Saturday, June 29 - 9-10:30 am

Cost for Soccer -
U6 $25 (includes a shirt)
U8 $30
U10 is $35,
U12 is $40
U15 is $45

$5 discount for each additional child
Jerseys are $20 for older teams (U8 - U15)

Look who has a "new and improved" website - Ada Area Chamber of Commerce

Winter sports in summer

Somtimes winters sports are summer sports. It's open gym in Ada High School this month and the sport of choice is basketball. Watch a short video.

Liberty Baptist Church VBS set July 15-19

Liberty Baptist Church, 2955 County Road 20, Ada, will hold its Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, July 15-19, at the church. VBS begins at 6:30 p.m. each evening. Area youth, ages 5 to 12, are invited to attend.

This year's VBS theme is "Diner Disaster." Friday night is family night and families are invited to join th VBSers for skits, games and fun events. Free hot dogs will be available on family night.

Kiwanis members get update on Lima I-75 construction

President Myrna McCurdy called the weekly of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order on Tuesday June 18,  at 12:01 p.m. in McIntosh Center, ONU.

The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress.

The following guests were introduced: Scott Mullens, Rhonda Pees and Dr. Bruce Burton.

The membership anniversary of member Brian Myers (June 22, 2004) was noted.

Jon and Sue Umphress were congratulated on their 42nd wedding anniversary June 20th.
