Ohio Northern University student Anne Wright Liddick, a junior international theatre production major from Greenville, Ind., was awarded the 2014 United State Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) Ohio Valley National Conference Scholarship.
Liddick is the first ONU student selected for this prestigious award. The USITT/Ohio Valley is the region containing Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Western New York and Western Pennsylvania, including Capital University, Kenyon College, Ashland University, Miami University, University of Findlay and Seton Hall University.
Liddick’s main focus is stage management, and this year at ONU she has stage managed “Dancing at Lughnasa.” She currently is the production stage manager for the student-directed one-act plays, and she was assistant stage manager for “ONU Holiday Spectacular” (2013). She has previously worked on “The Liar,” “Reefer Madness,” “ONU Holiday Spectacular” (2012), “ONU Student Choreography Showcase,” and “Nine.”
With this honor, Liddick received $500, which will help pay her way to the USITT 2014 Conference and Stage Expo in Fort Worth, Texas, from March 26-29. Liddick will write a newsletter-type article discussing her experience at the conference and promoting attendance by other theater students at the national event.
The Conference and Stage Expo is the entertainment and theatre industries’ leading event for education, networking and resourcing of products and services. The conference features more than 12 areas of education and meetings for every specialty skill in the industry.
