Robert "Bob" Jump owned a dairy farm in Liberty Township since 1955

Robert E. "Bob" Jump, 81, died Tuesday, July 02, 2013, at 10:23 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems, Lima.

He was born on July 8, 1931, in Forest, Ohio, to Clarence H. and Marie Luella (Dirmeyer) Jump and they preceded him in death. He married Jane Woodard who preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 2001.

Mr. Jump was a farmer and dairyman. He attended Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada. He was a 1949 graduate of Ada High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He served as a Hardin County Junior Fair Board member from 1946 to 1949. He served as a 4-H adviser for 15 years, served as fair director from 1960 to 1977.

Mark Huelsman named assistant Women's Basketball coach at Ohio Northern

Mark Huelsman has been named as an assistant women's basketball coach at Ohio Northern.

Huelsman comes to ONU after a 6-year stint as an assistant coach at Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington.

He graduated from Wittenberg in 2007 where he was a 3-year letter winner for the men's basketball team as well as a member of the 2006 NCAA III Tournament runner-up team.

While at Wilmington, he was responsible for coaching the post players, running the defense and assisting with recruiting. He has helped to coach three All-Americans at Wilmington.

Ada Village Office closed July 4 and July 5

While John Adams thought Americans would be celebrating their independence on July 2, the day the resolution for independence was approved by Congress, the sentiment has remained the same.

To celebrate this national holiday, the Village Offices will be closed July 4 and 5. The offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 8.

St. Mark Lutheran Church offers free meals and a movie night in July

St. Mark Lutheran Church, 125 S. Johnson St., Ada, offers free meals and movie night in Ada this summer, according to Rev. David Coffin, pastor.

• During the first Sunday of each month the church offers a free breakfast at 9 a.m. In July that breakfast is Sunday, July 7.

• On the third Saturday of each month the church offers a free movie night with popcorn and drinks. In July that movie night is Saturday, July 20. 

• On the last Wednesday of every month the church offers a free dinner served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. In July that dinner is Wednesday, July 31.
