Ada Junior High team wins second place in Hardin tourney

Ada's Junior High quiz bowl team was runner-up in the Hardin County Junior HIgh Quiz Bowl Invitational held March 6. Here are members of the team with their trophy. Riverdale won the tournament.

Ada won second place after a tie-breaker final round versus Kenton as both teams were 3-2 after the regular five matches.

Bubble alphabet

Which letter creates the best bubble? That question was pondered earlier this week by students at the Ready, Set, Grow Preschool. We don't know which letter of the alphabet this bubble formed from, but it's a winner.

The Village Voice: East Lima Avenue reconstruction underway

East Lima Avenue Reconstruction has begun. In an ideal world, progress happens overnight and none of us are inconvenienced while improvements are made. Progress in Ada may not happen overnight, but we do like to warn residents when it’s coming, in an effort to minimize the level of inconvenience.

If you have been near East Lima Avenue in the past week, you probably have seen various construction signs and equipment in the area. The street reconstruction project that was first shared in a public meeting in 2012, officially began last Friday, February 28. The project is expected to finish in October 2014.

Master Gardener program begins March 12 in Kenton

 

The Hardin County Master Gardeners are announcing their Spring Garden program schedule for this year. The programs will be held in the Mary Lou Johnson District Library meeting room, beginning on Wednesday, March 12. Each program will begin at 6:30 p.m., with time after the presentation for questions and discussion about that evening’s topic or other general gardening questions.

Freed Center presents "Take 6," awarding-winning a cappella group

 

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the award-winning a cappella group Take 6 on Saturday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m.

Take 6, the most-awarded a cappella group in history--with 10 Grammy awards, 10 Dove awards, a Soul Train award, two NAACP Image Award nominations and more--knows no musical bounds.

Less leaves to rake

The East Lima Avenue street project is now underway. One of the first steps in the project is the removal of many of the trees along the roadway.
