What a great day for Ada!

Saturday was a great day to be in Ada.

The 29th annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce's Harvest and Herb Festival, tied to the Ohio Northern University Parents' Weekend and Wilson garage sale brought thousands of visitors to Ada.

Alexis Amburgey is this year's reigning festival queen and Gabby Linnon is runner-up.

Kim Badertscher wins Icon football contest week 4

The winner of Week 4 of the Icon Football Contest is Kim Badertscher.   Sixcontestants correctly picked all 10 games. Five of those had the correct tie-breaker #1.  But, Kim was the only one to correctly pick tie-breaker #2.

Is it possible that Ada's population doubled in size on Saturday? Thanks to the Harvest and Herb Festivall, the Wilson sports garage sale and ONU's Parents' Weekend, the population of the village swelled. Ada QB passes for 433 yards and 2 TDs, but Ft. Loramie wins

A huge night from Freshman quarterback Seth Conley wasn't enough as the visiting Fort Loramie Redskins marched into War Memorial Stadium and defeated the Bulldogs, 35-21. Conley passed for 433 yards and two scores, but two costly turnovers and a strong night from Redskin quarterback Andy Grewe dealt the Bulldogs their third loss in as many weeks. The non-conference defeat drops Ada to (1-3) on the season.

Fort Loramie struck first, as halfback Nathan Plieman scored on a fourth and goal from the one, capping an 11 play, 55 yard drive. The missed extra point gave the Redskins a 6-0 lead with 7:24 to play in the first quarter.

University to observe Constitution Day with ‘Making Constitutional Law Today’

Ohio Northern University will observe Constitution Day with a presentation from prominent labor and employment attorney Gary Lofland in the Pettit College of Law’s Celebrezze Moot Court Room on Thursday, Sept. 25, at noon. The event is free and open to the public.
 

Ada chamber holds job fair on Oct. 6

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a job fair in October.

According to Deb Curlis, chamber president, "We are inviting businessese who plan to do hirings and we invite local residents interested in employment to attend."

The job fair will be from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Community Health Professionals, South Main Street, Ada.

There is no charge for businesses to participate. To reserve your table or for more information contact Curlis at 419-788-9459. Deadline to register is Oct. 6.
