Becky Lynn Burns-Reed was a 1975 graduate of Ada HS

Becky Lynn Burns-Reed, 57, died at 4:08 p.m.Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Medical Center, Westerville.

She was born April 29, 1957 in Jamestown, N.Y., to the late A. Chester and Patricia Ann (Woods) Burns. On March 15, 1997, she married Gary L. Reed, who survives in Ada.

She was a 1975 graduate of Ada High School. She had attended Ohio Northern University, and received her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Middle Tennessee State University, and received her nursing degree from Owens Community College in Findlay.

ONU pharmacists named 2014 Student Chapter of the Year

The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Student Chapter at Ohio Northern University’s Raabe College of Pharmacy was recognized with a number of honors, including being named the 2014 Student Chapter of the Year, at the 116th NCPA Annual Convention and Trade Exposition in Austin, Texas, on Oct. 19.

The award criteria included commitment to community service, recruiting new members, promoting independent community pharmacy and advocating legislative action. The first runner-up was Auburn University, and the University of Texas at Austin was the second runner-up.

A lion at heart

Caesar, a Great Dane, dressed up as a lion during the Ada Kiwanis Club's Halloween contest and parade. He attended the event with his lion tamer, Chris May.

Five Bulldogs named to NCOSA league teams

Five Ada High School soccer players were named to the North Central Ohio Soccer Association all-league teams this week.

Boys

Cole East, junior, forward, first team
Brayden Sauter, junior, defender, honorable mention
Will Allen, junior, defender, honorable mention.

Girls

Sidney Faine, junior, defender, second team
Kaitlyn Long, sophomore, defender, honorable mention
