Ohio Northern University to present 20th annual Holiday Spectacular

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the 20th annual ONU Holiday Spectacular from Thursday, Nov. 20, to Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a matinee performance on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m.

In addition, there will be performances at the Civic and Convention Center in Lima, on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m.

The show is underwritten in part by the DeBow and Catherine Freed Endowment for the Arts and Kewpee Hamburger.

ONU alumnus inducted into Tau Beta Pi as an eminent engineer

Michael Chow, founder and owner of Metro CD Engineering in Powell, Ohio, was inducted into Tau Beta Pi as an eminent engineer during a ceremony held Nov. 9 by the Ohio Iota Chapter at Ohio Northern University.

Thirteen ONU undergraduates also were initiated into Tau Beta Pi by the Ohio Iota chapter, which was founded in 1973.

A weekend in the Windy City: you're not in Ada anymore

I’m not much of a city girl; I’ve grown quite fond of the quiet intimacy small towns like our own have to offer. After a weekend in Chicago, however, my mind feels subject to change… 

On Nov. 8, I traveled to Chicago with a group of students and professors from OSU-Lima. We went to watch a live, penultimate performance of Shakespeare’s King Lear at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater located on the Navy Pier.

Ohio Northern University announces record placement rate for 2014 graduates

The Office of Polar Careers at Ohio Northern University has announced a record 95 percent placement rate for students who graduated in 2014, according to its six-month assessment report. The new mark is up 1 percent from last year for those students who reported placement.

Ninety-seven percent of the class of 2014 participated in the placement report; this number is up 1 percent from last year and sets a new standard for ONU.

Edward Jones Fest' of Trees wreath

There's still time to bid on this wreath donated by Edward Jones of Ada in the Community Health Professionals Festival of Trees. Friday is the deadline for bidding.

ONU's Dicke College of Business Administration students honored with FEI awards

Two students from Ohio Northern University’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments at the Financial Executives International (FEI) Toledo Chapter Student Awards Night November 13 in Perrysburg.

Andria Beehler-Evans, a senior accounting major from Bellefontaine, and Ashley Zoeller, a master of professional practice in accounting candidate from Port Clinton, were among 14 students honored at the event. The two ONU students were presented a $500 award check from Jon Strole on behalf of the FEI Toledo Chapter.
