Five open-air flying machines cruised Ada skies Saturday to assist in a world record

If you happened to look into the sky on Saturday you might have seen Kevin Mierzejewski waving to you.

Kevin put it this way: “What a Fun Day!” We had five open-air flying machines in the air at the Ada Airport to participate in a world wide flying event in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record.

“I personally flew three different planes, what an experience,” he added.

Ada Icon says vote "Yes" on Issue 1 on Nov. 3

ICON OPINION - VOTE YES ON ISSUE 1 ON NOV. 3

On Nov 3, Ohioans will have the opportunity to solve a divisive problem facing our state. Issue 1 defines a new method for drawing state legislative districts and embodies a compromise reached by Legislators of both parties.

It was put on the ballot by an overwhelming, bi-partisan vote in both the Ohio House and Senate. After many proposals brought forth by legislators and other political interests, Issue 1 is the first proposal brought to the voters on a bipartisan basis while establishing stronger transparency and accountability in the way state legislative districts are drawn.

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” adapted by Charles Morey and performed by the Los Angeles Theatre Works, on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m.

In Charles Morey’s acclaimed adaptation, Count Dracula slips quietly into Victorian London with a cargo of his native Transylvanian soil, necessary for rest between his victims. The city seems helpless against his frightful power, and only one man, the smart and resourceful Dr. Van Helsing, can stop the carnage.
