Dog of the Week: Meet Jip a terrier mix

Meet Jip. He's a three-year-old male, 20-pound terrier mix and is looking for a new home.

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Hours: 9 am to 4 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Phone: 419-674-2209.
Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

Town and Country Creators 4-H Club installs officers

On Monday March 21, at 6pm, the Town and Country Creators 4H Club met at St John’s Evangelical Church in Kenton.

Club President, Devry Moore, called the meeting to order and announced the Installation of Officers.

The 2016 Town and Country Creator Officers are as follows: President, Devry Moore; Vice President, Mason Bloom; Secretary, Alex Haushaulter; Treasurer, Ty Hiller; News Reporter, Carah Deardorff; Health Officer, Abigail Hartshorn; Safety Officer, Anna Longbrake; EEL, Haley Hunt; Recreation, Eden Cronley, Mason Flint, Lauren Manns, Lara Music; Historian, Caitlyn Tudor.

‘PostSecret Live’ with Frank Warren on Freed Center stage March 30

Ohio Northern University presents “PostSecret Live,” an interactive multimedia event hosted by Frank Warren, at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m.

In 2004, PostSecret creator Warren introduced the world to a collection of highly personal and artfully decorated postcards mailed anonymously from around the world, exposing the soulful secrets we never voice. What started as a community mail art project quickly exploded in popularity; since PostSecret’s inception, Warren has received more than 1 million anonymous secrets on homemade postcards.

‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ on Freed stage April 7-10

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” from April 7-10 at 7:30 p.m. Two matinee performances have been scheduled for April 9 and 10 at 2 p.m.

Gospel Ensemble present spring concert April 3

The Ohio Northern University Gospel Ensemble, with special guests the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church Choir of Lima and the Toledo Youth Choir, will perform its annual spring concert in the McIntosh Center Ballroom on Sunday, April 3, at 4 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The primary purpose of the ONU Gospel Ensemble is to spread the word of God through song, and its mission is “Winning souls to Christ with a melody.” The Ensemble was formed in 1987 by a group of African-American students who wanted to share their heritage through gospel music.
