The Ohio Northern men's golf team continued its winning ways during the 2016-17 campaign as it posted its third consecutive winning season under fourth-year head coach Chad Bucci.
Northern posted a record-setting performance at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships as seniors Tyler Davis (Liberty Center) and Blaine Ricketts (Belle Center/Ben Logan) earned All-Conference honors to lead Ohio Northern to a fourth place finish at the championships.
Ohio Northern's 54-hole score of 903 was one shot better then the school record 904 set in 2008.
Both Davis and Rickets earned All-OAC honors for the second time in their careers.

An ONU professor and two of his students lived through a harrowing experience in Manchester, England, on May 22. Unfolding below them in their hotel rooms, about a mile away from the Adriana Grande concert, was a scene of mayhem: 22 dead and 119 injured in a bombing. Shane Tilton, Ph.D., assistant professor of multimedia journalism, gives the Ada Icon this account of that dreadful night:
The Ada Gators Swim Team beat the Shawnee Country Club Swim Team 412 to 311 last Thursday at the Ada pool. Coaches this year are Logan Rex, Katey Stuart, and Kyley Stuart. (Monty Siekerman photo)

Wednesday is Flag Day. What does the day conjure up for you? Freedom, sacrifice, pride?
During the past few years, the Ada Icon has featured homes in the village where the flag is displayed. Since the photos are taken a few days before Flag Day, these residences normally fly the flag continuously.
This year the Icon features institutions, both public and private, and one manufacturing facility. There were three homes we couldn't pass up, so they are included, too.
