March 1930 the second death of an Ohio Northern University student within ten days through auto accidents brought a ban on automobiles without permits on the campus. Ralph Sealand, Lakewood and Thomas Downs, Bryan, were the victims.

March 1930 Turner Hall, girls dormitory, at Ohio Northern University was opened for public inspection after purchasing the P.W. Turner home in February. The home was erected by Dr. H.S. Lehr and was the family home for many years.

Ada HS class of 1973?

Forty-five yearbooks ago, this photo was posted in the Ada High School yearbook. The school year is 1972-73. Is it the senior class?

Kohl's Supermarket 1953

Here's Ada's Clover Farm Store, also known as Kohl's Supermarket in 1953. It offered freezer locker service (for persons who did not have home freezers). It also offered year-around meat processing and curing.

November 1933 Mrs. Clara Warren, the first woman to hold a village office, was re-named Village Treasurer.

1943 Ada Boy Scout paper drive

Here's a photo of the Ada Boy Scout during a paper drive in 1943. This is certainly the largest paper drive ever in Ada. The photo is  taken behind the Ada city building.

The Icon welcomes anyone who can contribute names of the scouts. The photo is from the collection of Tom Lehman.

Troop 124 will be hold a 100th anniversary dinner at Donnell Lodge at Camp Berry on Saturday, April 14, at 6 p.m. All interested parties are invited.
