ICAPP Critical Question: Women in Politics

In this last week of Women's History Month, Ohio Northern's student fellows from the Institute for Civics and Public Policy (ICAPP) have released a new podcast episode and another installment in their "Critical Questions' series on the state of Women in Politics. 

The 3 female fellows take a look at the historical role of women in American politics and pay particular attention to several key female Ohio leaders. Fellow Andrea Hoffman states, “It is important for us as women who plan to pursue careers in public affairs to learn from the experiences of women who have come before us. It helps us to visualize our path and future career.”

AHS girls track led by Sumner, two Olivias; Bulldog boys have deep roster

The 2022 Ada High School track and field team boasts a big roster, featuring strong upperclass returnees and a talented group of freshmen under ninth-year head coach Tyler Craig.

A total of 46 boys and girls comprise the squad. Ten seniors, five juniors, 16 sophomores and 15 freshmen fill out the roster.

Feels like 18 degrees F; March 28 AHS games cancelled

March 28 home openers for the Ada High School baseball and softball teams have been cancelled. It's sunny but frigid. Wind chill at 2 p.m. is 18 degrees F.

March 28 organizational meeting for Farmers & Merchants picnic

The 109th Annual Farmers and Merchants Picnic will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, and organizers are extending an invitation to local farmers as well as merchants to take part in Ohio's longest running festival.

Joni Goodman, of Midwest Rehab, Inc., notes, "If you would like to be a part of keeping the tradition alive, we hope that you will join us for a meeting being held at the park building (brick building at the North entrance of the park) at 7 p.m. on March 28."

March 30 "Music in Motion" at Snyder Recital Hall

At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, "Music in Motion" will be presented by Tower Duo in Snyder Recital Hall, a venue in Presser Hall, 525 S Gilbert St, on the campus of Ohio Northern University. Tower Duo is a flute and saxophone ensemble based in Columbus, Ohio that specializes in creating engaging musical experiences with a particular interest in performing and premiering contemporary works by living composers.

Reminder: Liberty Belles & Boys 4-H sign-up underway

Liberty Belles & Boys 4-H will hold its next meeting on April 5. Individuals can still sign up. 

The group is also looking for volunteers. Sign up at http://go.osu.edu/hardinvolapp 

Liberty Belles and Boys has been around since 1936. The group meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 S Main St.

The club is open to both livestock and life-skills projects.
