Al-Olimat presents Psilocybin 101

Dr. Sa’ed Al-Olimat, PharmD, who grew up in Ada, will be making a presentation on the proposed use of psychedelic drugs to treat mental health conditions. He will speak in a program entitled Psilocybin 101 at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1 at Crimson Lane, 4600 County Road 1, Ada. 

Al-Olimat is a licensed pharmacist, community pharmacy manager, and educator of psychedelic medicine. He is a co-founder of the Psychedelic Pharmacists Association and founder of PsiloHealth.

Save the Date: Merry on Main is December 3

ONU men’s soccer claims OAC regular season title

The No. 13 Ohio Northern men's soccer team celebrated Senior Night by securing the 2022 Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season championship Saturday with a 3-0 win over Marietta at Kerscher Stadium.

This marks ONU's ninth OAC Regular Season title in program history and first since 2015.

The Polar Bears (13-2-3 overall, 8-0-1 OAC) completed the fourth unbeaten conference season in program history and will host an OAC Tournament semifinal game on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Trick or Treat 2022

Treats brought smiles to the faces of Ada Trick or Treaters on Oct. 27, although some have to be imagined under the masks. The Ada-Liberty Fire and EMS departments served hundreds of hot dogs donated by Community Markets, making sure that protien as well as sugar was on offer.

Women's Golf at Berry Invitational

ROME, Ga. — The Ohio Northern women's golf team broke its 36-hole school record by a full 18 strokes and finished third of 12 teams at the Berry (Ga.) Chik-Fil-A Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Coosa Country Club.

The Polar Bears (42-3 overall) carded a 310-311—621, which is 18 shots better than the previous record of 639 set twice in 2021.

Weed-free soybean fields Increase in 2022

HARDIN CO. – Each year before soybean harvest, county Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Educators conduct a county weed survey. The purpose of this survey is to determine the type and number of weeds that are infesting farm fields. Another reason is to develop an understanding of which weeds are becoming resistant to herbicides used by farmers.
