Conservation Tillage Club breakfast series in January-February

HARDIN COUNTY–The 2023 Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series will begin on Thursday,  January 12 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mt. Victory. Each session will start at 7:30 a.m. with a  complimentary buffet breakfast followed by the program at 8:00 am. Other sessions will be held on  January 26, February 9 and February 23.

The No. 25-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team opened play at the Bluffton McDonald's Holiday Tournament with a 60-50 victory over Denison on Thursday afternoon, December 29.

Late 24-3 run defeats Bethany (W.Va.) in final women's basketball game of Bluffton tournament
The No. 25-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team went on a 24-3 run over a 10-minute span in the third and fourth quarters and posted a 76-55 victory over Bethany (W.Va.) on the final day of the Bluffton McDonald's Holiday Tournament on Friday afternoon, December 30.

What’s big news in Ada? Let’s take a look at the stories that attracted the most viewers in 2022. Hard news, heartbreaking news received the highest number of views, while other stories reflected life and events in the village.

Car fire with two deaths in Liberty township
The death of a father and daughter, Alcario and Elliot Nabarette, in a car fire on March 21 in a field on County Rd. 75 was determined to be a murder-suicide. The initial story received almost 1,800 views.

Fowl weather continues

AHS boys basketball falls to AE in Border Battle final

The Ada High School boys basketball team lost to backyard rival Allen East 56-40 in the title game of the fifth annual boys Border Battle tournament at Waynesfield Friday night, December 30.

The Bulldogs never truly got on track, as they trailed most of the game. AE displayed solid guard play and shooting to win the tourney title.

Ada fell to 5-4 after the defeat snapped their two-game win streak. Meanwhile, AE improved to 4-3 with the win. The Mustang girls and boys swept the BB crowns. 

The Bulldogs trailed by just six at the half, but got outscored 29-19 after intermission.
