Remember to share the road with riders

July 15 is a day to share the road with cyclists who are taking part in the 9th annual Bluffton Lions Ride to Remember. Over 200 registered riders will be following marked and mapped routes that include the communities of Ada, Benton Ridge, Bluffton, Gilboa, Lafayette, Mount Cory, Ottawa, Pandora and Rawson.

The 110th Farmers & Merchants Picnic is less than a month away. On Saturday, August 12, Ada will celebrate with a full day of family fun. As the action-packed poster promises, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

8:00 a.m. - OWHA horse show with Contest, Halter & Performance classes

9:00 a.m. - 2nd Annual Truck & Semi Show. Registration begins @ 9:00 a.m. - Show 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

9:30 a.m. - F&M Parade travels from West Lincoln St. to Main St. to War Memorial Park. Register to be in the parade by August 1.

10:30 a.m. - Main Stage welcome and flag raising

11:00 a.m. - Pedal Tractor Pull for Kids at the Main Stage- Sponsored By Ada Kiwanis Club

Cornhole Tournament - Sign-Up @ 12:00 p.m. - Tossing @ 1:00 p.m. - $25 Per Team

2:00 p.m. - Gates open for F&M Picnic Tractor Pull

5:00 p.m. - Main prize drawing; also hourly door prizes

Save the Date: Patrick Archer Memorial Softball Tournament

On September 2 a memorial softball tournament will be held in honor of Ada resident Patrick Archer who was killed November 3, 2021 in a workplace incident at the Lima Ford Engine Plant.

The benefit event will include a Home Run Derby for children; a raffle will raise funds for local scholarships while raising awareness about workplace safety. The event will be held at Ada War Memorial Park's back diamonds.

Two public hearings are part of July 27 school board meeting

The Ada Schools Board Of Education will hold a July board meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

The meeting will include a hearing of the public on the use of IDEA Part B funds (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) for the 2023-2024 school year and a hearing of the public on Hire Rehire for the 2023-2024 school year.
