Bulldog girls soccer win at Tiffin

Marshall, Burkhart combine for 5 goals

The Ada girls soccer team kicked off its season with a decisive 5-2 win at Tiffin Columbian Saturday evening.

“I am glad our eight seniors got to start the season with a win,” said second-year Lady Bulldog head coach Doug Dewese. “It was an excellent effort for the team to open the season with.”

Ada led 3-1 at the half and dominated throughout. 

Senior Ella Marshall tallied three goals, and she also dished out one assist.

Senior Olivia Burkhart netted two goals, and junior Lexi Poling passed out a pair of assists.

“Ella had a hat trick, Olivia added in two goals and Lexi with the assists showed a well-rounded attack,” noted Dewese.

Bulldog boys boys soccer post double-digit win vs. Tiffin

The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team dominated Tiffin Columbian 12-0 in a non-league mismatch Saturday evening, August 19 at Frost-Kalnow Stadium.

The Bulldog boys improved their record to 2-1 with the blowout victory.

Ada chamber hosts Punt, Pass & Kick USA competition on August 26

Competition is part of the 7th Annual Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival

Young football fans will have the opportunity to exhibit their football skills at the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Punt, Pass & Kick USA, Inc. competition on Saturday, August 26. The competition is FREE and open to boys and girls ages 6-15. There are ten age groups in the competition.

School's out for the first day of 2023-2024

Students exited the Ada Schools on August 17 eager to share the news from their first day of school for the 2023-2024 year. 

SR 235-SR 309 detour for culvert replacement

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Hardin County during the week of August 21. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 235/State Route 309 between County Road 35 and County Road 45 will close on Tuesday, Sept. 5, for four days for a culvert replacement.

  • Detour: SR 309 to I-75 to SR 81 to SR 235, back to SR 309 (detour attached).

State Route 235 between County Road 130 and Township Road MD, approximately three miles south of the village of Alger, will close on Monday, Aug. 28, for approximately five days for a culvert replacement.­

  • Detour: SR 309 to SR 67, back to SR 235 (see detour).

Do you have achy hips, a stiff neck, back pain or swollen knees? If any of these things sound familiar to you, you could be one of the millions of people in the U.S. who have symptomatic arthritis. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 58.5 million people have been diagnosed by a healthcare provider with some form of arthritis.  

In 2016, 25.7 million people, or about 44% of people with diagnosed arthritis, reported activity limitations due to the arthritis. In fact, it is one of the leading causes of work-related disability.
