James R. "Jim" Gibson 1941 - 2017

James "Jim" Gibson passed away on July 28th, 2017 at Lima Memorial Health System at 11:39 a.m.

He was born on August 20th, 1941 to the late Roy and Mary (Appleton) Gibson. On July 17, 1965 Jim married Victoria L. “Vickie” Fry who preceded him in death on August 8, 2004.

Here's the scoop on the seven candidates:
Riece Clark, guardian Gale Mullett, age 4, preschool, enjoys playing ball, riding his motorcycle, swimming, and playing with cars.
Kaylee Watson, daughter of Jordan and Megan Watson, age 9, fourth grade, enjoys horseback riding, softball, Girl Scouts, working in the garden with her Dad and raising bunnies with her Mom.

Hardin County Grand Jury indicts two area residents

Hardin County Sheriff’s Deputies executed warrants on indictments earlier this week by arresting two Ada area men on separate and unrelated cases.

The warrants were issued July 26, after indictments were handed down by a Hardin County Grand Jury.

Arrested were Albert L. Mast, Sr., of 0691 Township Road 25, Ada, and Dennis L. Dellifield of 415 Willeke Ave., Ada.

Mast is charged with a 123-count indictment, which include felony rape, gross sexual imposition, sexual imposition and sexual battery.

Duplex, residence, church addition and more

The first six months of this year found a duplex, a home, and a church addition, plus assorted fences, decks, and storage sheds built in Ada. ONU demolished a house on Ballard and Karlton Plaugher removed a house trailer on Lincoln.

Pictured here: work continues on a $200,000 duplex on Autumn Drive by Myler Construction. Two similar duplexes have been built by Myler in the past year or so, as shown in the background of the photo.

Zoning permits were granted to Clint Mathewson for a $250,000 single family home at 1136 Beech St. and a $245,000 addition to Grace Gospel Church, 321 N. Gilbert St.

OHSAA parent meeting on Sunday

The OHSAA parent meeting for Ada High School fall athletes in grades 7-12 will be Sunday July 30th @ 7:00 in the high school auditorium.
