The Ada Kiwanis kicked off a big week of 2024 Halloween and Trick or Treat festivities in Ada. The organization’s Halloween Parade attracted 124 participants competing for 22 trophies. The seven award categories and the winners are listed below.

It’s postulated that family members and friends can reach intolerable levels of anxiety and depression during this time due to accentuated family dynamics, financial strain, and other stressors.

ADA – Two Ada High School golfers received All-Blanchard Valley Conference honors for 2024.

Senior Ethan Lawence and sophomore Brody Rister were both named honorable mention All-BVC.

Leipsic’s Brevin Brandt earned BVC Player of the Year honors.

Van Buren mentor Eric Heitkamp was named BVC Coach of the Year by his peers. VB won the league championship with 920 strokes as they captured all three conference tournaments. 

The Ada Bulldogs finished eighth in their first season as a member of the 10-team league at 1,264 total strokes.

Throughout the month of November, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is conducting an online survey to identify traffic safety concerns and obtain feedback about interactions with the agency.

Daylight Savings ends in the wee hours this Saturday-Sunday, November 2-3. Whether you change your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday or when you get up on Sunday, you’ll need to move them back one hour. The change officially takes place at 2:00 a.m. EST.

Rumpke Waste & Recycling has added a new acceptable item for recycling—clamshell plastic containers starting November 1, 2024.

Residents can now add clamshells to their recycling carts. This will include clear plastic carry-out containers; fruit, berry and lettuce containers and egg containers. For information on current guidelines, visit Rumpke HERE.
