Bingo continues each Thursday in Ada

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and  Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m., according to Dave Smittle, Ada Music Boosters treasurer.

Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club and Ada Music Boosters.

 

The Amazing Spider-Man now showing at Ada Theatre

The Amazing Spider-Man (PG-13) is now showing at the Ada Theatre according to James Curliss.

Shows are:
• Friday and Saturday 7 and 9:45 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday matinee 4 p.m.
• Daily at 7 p.m.

The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 American superhero film directed by Marc Webb based on Marvel Comics' Spider-Man. It is the fourth Columbia Pictures film that portrays Spider-Man in film and is a reboot of the Sam Raimi film series with Andrew Garfield replacing Tobey Maguire as the title role of the superhero.

Music on Main Event for Ada set for July 13

The Buy Ada First Committee has organized a Music On Main event for Friday, July 13, from 6 – 8 p.m. at The Depot parking lot, weather permitting.

WONB 94.9 FM is providing music, several businesses are having sidewalk sales, some restaurants will be offering specials, the Ada Rotary Club is having a chicken barbecue fundraiser and more.

Bring lawn chairs, enjoy dinner, visit the businesses, listen and dance to music and spend time in Ada with friends and family.

Summer reading club pool party July 18

Summer Reading Club Pool Party
Wednesday, July 18 from 11 a.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m.
Location: The Ada park & swimming pool

The Ada Public Library is partnering with the Ada Park to throw a pool party for all Summer Reading Club participants and their guardians in celebration of everyone’s efforts! Kids will have 2 hours to swim for free, and afterwards they will be directed to a shelter house for snacks and prizes.

According to Ada Pool policy, children under the age of 8 must have a caretaker present who is at least 13 years old. If needed, a rain date is set for Thursday, July 19 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

 

Ada library and ONU Office of Career Services offer job strategies workshop July 11

The Ada Public Library will host a job search strategies workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 11 at the library, 320 N. Main St., Ada.

The workshop is sponsred by the library and Ohio Northern University Office of Career Services.

A staff member of ONU's Career Services office will help persons develop a career search strategy at no charge.

Walk-ins are welcome, bu appointments are preferred.

"Wonderful Wednesdays" for youth has July 6 sign-up

The Hardin County Historical Museum offers "Wonderful Wednesdays" to youth ages 8 to 12 this summer.

Event are from 10 a.m. to noon on July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1. These take place at the Hardin Historical Village and Farm on the Hardin County Fairgrounds, Kenton.

There is no cost, but pre-registration is required. The last day to register is July 6. The schedule follows:
July 11 - Flower gardening
July 18 - Tie-dye a t-shirt
July 25 - Pioneer recycling
Aug. 1 - Make ice cream
