Local ghost stories to be told at Ada Public Library

Program at Ada Public Library on October 18

Three Bluffton ghost story talks by Fred Steiner take place this upcoming week, according to the author of the newly released “Where Bluffton’s Ghosts Sleep.”

The talks, presented with PowerPoint graphics, are open to the public on the following dates:

Historical society open house at Crouse's Ada museum

The Ada Ohio Historical Society will be hosting an open house at Lee Crouse's Ada Museum.

The event is free and open to the public.

Veterans’ Day Breakfast invitation

The Ada School District is holding its traditional Veterans’ Day breakfast on Friday, November 10.

All veterans and their families as well as active duty service personnel who live, work or worship within the boundaries of the Ada Exempted Village Schools are invited to breakfast at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10.

Reservations are required.  Please call the Ada High School Office at 419-634-2746.

Liberty Village Preschool to host craft fair

The Village PUP Pack Craft Show has been scheduled for Saturday, November 4 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Organizers are highlighting vendor on a Facebook event page.

The show will take place in the school cafeteria, 725 West North Avenue.

We have vendors of all kinds and will feature them all before the event!

$3 donation for entry for adults, children free of charge. We’ll also have raffle baskets!

Ada 2023 Mayoral Candidate Forum recap

The Ada mayoral candidate forum on Wednesday, October 4 provided a public platform for the two men running for the four-year term to commence in January 2024. Incumbent David Retterer (Republican) and challenger Howard Fenton (Democrat) presented their qualifications, interests and ideas for serving as Mayor of the Village of Ada.

The candidates are friends and friendly rivals. Both worked as professors at Ohio Northern University. Retterer was an associate professor of math and computer sciences until retiring in 2012. Fenton was a professor of law until retiring in 2018.
