Free pizza and swim today

Today (Friday) will be the last free lunch of the summer sponsored ReStore at War Memorial Park, but the summer program ends with a bang.

There will be a pizza party at the pool and free swimming from noon until 1 p.m.
ReStore has held free lunches and games for the youth of the community since school was dismissed in May.

Today's lunch, party and swim will be the last this year since school starts on Tuesday.

Alger Memorial Fest Committee breakfast

The Alger Memorial Festival Committee is sponsoring a Country-Style breakfast on Saturday, September 2nd, from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. 

Serving biscuits, sausage gravy, hash-browns, scrambled eggs, fried apples, sausage patties and beverage.

Suggested donation is $7.00. All-you-can-eat (on premises only). Carry out is available,

Beaverdam Summerfest Saturday

It’s a Saturday of fun in Beaverdam.

The Beaverdam-Richland Township Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments hold their annual Summerfest in the downtown area.

This year’s event starts at 4 p.m. and goes into the evening hours.

You’ll find homemade food and ice cream, bouncy rides for youth plus entertainment at 5 p.m. by SaMaX, a three-member band from Lima.

Several raffle prize drawings are at 9 p.m. Tickets are available at $1 each or six for $5. Persons do not need to be present to win.

Yes, there will be tractor pulls on Saturday

More than 1,000 people expected to attend

More than a thousand people are expected to attend the F&M Picnic Truck and Tractor Pull at War Memorial Park on Saturday.

The first session begins at  10 a.m., the second at 6:30 p.m. Gates open at 8 a.m. Food vendors will be available. Cost is $10, children 10 and under $5, veterans and seniors free.

Chris Vermillion is president of the Hardin County Pullers. About $2,000 will be given out to winners of the first session; about $12,000 in prize money for the second session winners.

Elvis coming to Farmers & Merchants Picnic

Here's the entertainment schedule for the Main Stage at the Farmers and Merchants Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 12, according to Deb Alt, entertainment chairperson.

1 p.m. Jeff Davis, Lima, will open for Elvis Impersonator Richie Crouch. Davis sings country, Elvis, classic, gospel, and more. Crouch sings Elvis, of course.

1-4 p.m. A Living Statue Soldier from the Cincinnati Circus will be stationed near the Main Stage.

August dinners at the Ada VFW Post

Pulled pork and fish are in the menu in August at the VFW Post, 2147 SR 235 north of Ada.

The public is invited to purchase a pulled pork dinner at the VFW from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11. Cost is $8, with age 10 and under $4.

The VFW Post will have a fish fry from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25.
