Museum sponsoring barn sale

Want to sell items at a barn sale and craft show on May 19-20 at Hardin County Heritage Farm, 14380 CR 140 near Kenton?

The Hardin Historical Museum is sponsoring the sale from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 1-4 on Sunday. Tables are $20 and may be reserved by calling Sheena at 419-673-7147 by May 5.

Hand-crafted items, repurposed furniture, antiques, and baked goods will be accepted. No garage sale items, such as clothing, or guns can be sold.

Lots of classes for youth at Bluffton Family Recreation

Several classes for youth are on-going this spring at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director. Here's the list:

Homeschool Recreation Class
Lots of different activities i n thesoccer arena. Fridays, 10 a.m.
(Free for members/$15 non-members)

Little Movers: (4 week session)
Get the wiggles out with preschool fun and games
Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m.
Same time as Wednesday TRX!
18 months to 5 years ($15/$30)

Basketball
Learn basics including dribbling, passing and shooting
Mondays, 5:30-6:15 p.m.
K-3rd grade ($20/$35)

Ada Scouts’ 100th anniversary dinner

Saturday is the deadline to make reservations for the dinner honoring the Ada Boy Scouts’ 100th anniversary on Saturday, April 14. Tickets are $20 and include a commemorative patch. Call Tom Lehman at 419-634-1466.

Dan Snyder will be guest speaker. He became an Ada Troop Eagle Scout in 1950. Those attending are encouraged to bring pictures and memorabilia.

The dinner will be held at Camp Berry, 11716 CR 40 south of Findlay. There will be camp tours, weather permitting.

Country-style breakfast on Saturday

The Alger Memorial Festival Committee is sponsoring a Country-Style breakfast on Saturday,April 7 from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. 

They will be serving biscuits, sausage gravy, hash-browns, scrambled eggs, fried apples, sausage patties and beverage.

Suggested donation is $7.00. All-you-can-eat (on premises only). Carry out is available,

Two former ONU staff talk about MLK visit to ONU at Bluffton Public Library

March 21 in a community conversation and free showing of the film "Selma"

Former Ohio Northern University staff members Monty Siekerman and Alfred Cohoe will share their experiences about Dr. Martin Luther King's talk on the ONU campus in 1968 during a  program at 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, in the Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.

Bluffton Public Library will host a community conversation and free showing of the film Selma (2014) on March 21 at 5 p.m.  

Before the movie, former Ohio Northern University staff members Monty Siekerman and Alfred Cohoe will share their experiences during Dr. King’s talk on ONU’s campus in 1968 (shortly before the events from the film took place).

Mommy and Me at Art/Space Lima

Saturday, March 24, space is limited

On Saturday, March 24, ArtSpace/Lima will host an enrichment event designed to engage young children and their parents in an exciting gallery experience. 

Art educator, Linda Lehman, will lead children in a painting activity that relates to artworks the children will view in the  Kewpee High School Art Invitational Exhibit. The children’s activity will be held from 11 a.m.-noon and will be limited to 20 children.  The activity is designed for children 8 years old and younger.  

Interested parents should call ArtSpace at 419-222-1721 to register. A$2 donation is requested to cover the cost of materials.
