Festival tailgate party full of fun and food

The 2022 Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival looked good, sounded good, smelled good and tasted good. The Tailgate Party coordinated by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce at Depot Park was a dramatic contrast to the surrounding quiet streets of Ada on Saturday evening, August 27.

Entertainment included two live bands--Voodoo Lane and the Shifferly Road Band--and presentations celebrating local football teams. Children enjoyed dancing and playing a variety of games. Folks lined up to try the foods provided by a fleet of mobile vendors--everything from a classic boat of french fries to lobster sandwiches and Belgian waffles on a stick.

First day of (dance) school

Today's the day: Studio 419 will begin teaching dance classes at 301 N Main St.,--ballet, combo tap/ballet, hip-hop, modern, pointe and tap--including and adult tap class. Students will range in age from 3 to 69.

The Icon visited with instructors Samantha Beck and Shaina Phillips at the studio's open house on Saturday, August 20, when they met with famlies to discuss what type of dance their children are interested in and the clothes and shoes needed for class. The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce board also celebrated the new business opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
