KENTON__Krane Stahler of Kenton, Ohio has recently been promoted to the Chief Accounting Officer position of Quest Federal Credit Union. Krane began his career after graduating from Ohio Northern University in 2008 as a public accountant for an area audit and tax accounting firm and after five years in that role, started his Quest career in 2014.

Here's a product preview for the Winter Farm Market on Saturday, February 3 from 8:00 a.m.-noon. The event is a collaboration of Buckeye East Coffee Shop, 123 E. Buckeye, and the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.

Northwest Ohio – Wildlife District Two 
In October, State Wildlife Officer Jason Porinchok, assigned to Putnam County, attended the 2023 Putnam County annual Pheasants Forever Black Swamp Chapter Youth Pheasant Hunt. The Black Swamp Chapter of Pheasants Forever partnered with Kalida Fish and Game Club to offer the hunt. Hunters aged 17 and under had the opportunity to hunt ring-necked pheasants with bird dogs and their handlers. More than 50 youth from Putnam County attended, and most were successful in harvesting a bird.   

HARDIN COUNTY__A Beef Quality Assurance certification training is scheduled for Monday, February 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hardin County OSU Extension office located at 1021 W Lima Street in Kenton.

The January 17 meeting of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce was an opportunity to hear what lies in store for the village in 2024. Director Lindsay Walden Hollar provided members with a list of events through June 2024 including the programs to be presented at each monthly meeting. 

HARDIN COUNTY__The 2024 Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series will continue Thursday, January 25 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mt. Victory. The session will start at 7:30 a.m. with a complimentary buffet breakfast followed by a grain marketing outlook program at 8:00 a.m. Other sessions will be held on February 8 and 22.

The January 25 program will feature Kendra Dauer, Risk Management Consultant with StoneX in Bowling Green who will present a program on the 2024 Grain Marketing Outlook. Dauer will discuss the world market situation for corn, soybean, and wheat including world events, demand, supply, planting intentions, and other factors that might influence the grain markets in 2024. Other local information that might affect grain markets here in Ohio will be a topic of discussion as well.
