Wings Looking to Enter Playoffs on High Note

The Detroit Red Wings are preparing for the National Hockey League playoffs for the 21 consecutive season, by far the longest current streak in the league. Before they embark on their journey to the Stanley Cup Finals though, they have three more regular season games left to play.

ONU student from Harrod awarded Goldwater Scholarship

Ohio Northern University student Zachary Dunn, a senior ACS chemistry and applied physics double major with an astronomy minor and an education concentration, has been selected as a Goldwater Scholar by the trustees of the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Ohio Northern students have received this honor, the premier undergraduate award of its type in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering.

Ohio Northern University music department to host Bob Becker

 

The Ohio Northern University Department of Music will present Bob Becker in Presser Hall on Tuesday, April 3, at 8 p.m.

A master of African percussion tradition, Becker is a disciple of Pandit Sharda Sahai, one of the most respected musicians of the Benares tabla style. Becker is considered to be one of the world’s prodigy performers on the xylophone and marimba. This talent led him to create the Bob Becker Concert Xylophone line of mallets.

Ohio Northern University’s Smull College of Engineering will host the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) North Central Regional Conference, in which regional universities face off in a variety of competitions, including concrete canoe and steel bridge building competitions, from March 30-April 1.
