Ohio high school principals vote on new competitive balance proposal for sports teams

The Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Board of Directors held a special meeting on Friday, March 23, and approved five additional items to place before the membership during the annual referendum voting process that will be held between May 1 and 15.

Among the items that will be voted upon by member school principals is a slightly revised Competitive Balance Proposal that, if adopted, would place schools into their respective tournament divisions in team sports based on a sport-by-sport athletic count.

Workshop on community building for spiritual care and human service professionals slated

Pastors, church leaders, youth ministers, parish nurses, chaplains, social workers and counselors are invited to attend a workshop on identifying and incorporating the gifts and talents of those with developmental disabilities. The event will be held Tuesday, April 24 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Winebrenner Theological Seminary, 950 N. Main St., Findlay. Continuing education credits will be offered to those in attendance.

Ohio Northern University's International Law Society to  present discussion about ending Ohio's death penalty

Ohio Northern University’s International Law Society presents “Ohio House Bill 160: The Execution of Justice Bill” in the Pettit College of Law’s Celebrezze Moot Court Room on Tuesday, April 10, at 7 p.m.

The speaker for the event will be Ohio State Representative Ted Celeste, who will discuss why he is sponsoring a bill to end the state’s death penalty.
