Some serious construction work is going on in Ada this month. Here's a construction worker on an Ohio Northern University building roof.

Six-hour Gospel Singing in the Park on the band shell stage June 30

Gospel Singing in the Park includes performances by a dozen groups from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 30. The event, which includes a chicken barbecue, is held in the band shell at the Ada War Memorial Park on North Park Drive.

Red Cross blood drive July 9 at Ada Visiting Nurses

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Monday, July 9, from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Ada Visiting Nurses, located on State Route 235 on the edge of Ada.

While walk-in donors are welcome, donors are encouraged to make appointments. To make an appointment, call 1-800-RED CROSS or go to www.redcrossblood.org.

Blood Donors Must:

Be healthy
Be at least 17 years old in most states, or 16 years old with parental consent if allowed by state law
Weigh at least 110 lbs.
Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18 years old and younger and all high school donors.

Ada library and ONU Office of Career Services offer job strategies workshop July 11

The Ada Public Library will host a job search strategies workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 11 at the library, 320 N. Main St., Ada.

The workshop is sponsred by the library and Ohio Northern University Office of Career Services.

A staff member of ONU's Career Services office will help persons develop a career search strategy at no charge.

Walk-ins are welcome, bu appointments are preferred.
