The Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes met on May 6 in the Hardin Northern Ag Building.
For recreation the members played kickball. The meeting was led by vice president Aiden Gatchell. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Kendall Frank and the 4-H Pledge by Wesley Linke. Roll call was what is your favorite color. There were 47 total present: 34 members, 8 advisors, and 5 guests.
Cooper and Lainey Thomas gave a demonstration about their projects and how to prepare for judging.
Nancy Musselman talked to the members about their upcoming food drive. Trivia was given by Gabe Trachsel. The meeting was adjourned by Jake Weaver and seconded by Paul Minter.

Nathan Hurtig is an optimist in more ways than one.
The Ada High School junior’s essay on the theme of optimism was selected the best essay of 477 entries in a state essay contest held by the Ohio Optimist Club this spring.
“I wrote the essay in January, won the local club level in Kenton in February, learned I won the state level in March, and received the award in April at the Ohio District Conference in Dublin,” he said.
The Ada junior’s award was one of three presented in Columbus. His was in the essay division. Other awards were given to winners in an oratorical division and a division for students with hearing impediments.
Jaden Carter, a resident assistant in Assistant Living, is this month’s Vancrest spotlight employee.
She has been on the staff for nearly three years and has worked all the shifts. She is an Elida High School graduate and is currently working on her business in health care administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her goal is to become an assisted living director.
Jaden says she enjoys seeing Vancrest residents on a daily basis and hearing about their lives.

The Ada municipal swimming pool opens for the season on Saturday, May 25. It will also be on on Sunday, May 26, and Memorial Day, May 27. It will reopen for a "midnight swim," from 8 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday, May 28, which is the last day of school for Ada.
Season admission follows:
$60 season pass for individuals
$225 for family (two adults and three children)
$20 for each additional family member up – limit 4 additional
Ada residents and Ada income taxpayers receive a $10 discount on individual passes and a $25 discount on family passes.
Pharmacy graduates celebrate following ONU’s May 12 commencement. Ceremonies were May 12 for Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy, undergraduate colleges and Master of Science in Accounting (MSA). The Pettit College of Law commencement in Sunday.
