Richard J. “Rich” Reichelderfer, age 57, of Lima, passed away at Lima Memorial Health System on Monday, January 27, 2025.
He was born on June 3, 1967 in Lima, Ohio to Robert and Carolyn (Long) Reichelderfer of Lima. Rich married Gina K. Sanders and she survives in Lima.
Also surviving are his three children: Rachel (Bailey Cotrell) Reichelderfer of Columbus, Felicia (Jeff) Thompson of Alger and Chad (Jenny) Plaugher of Hedgesville, WV; seven grandchildren: Ross, Dylan, Evan, Elizabeth, Adilynn, Cason and Lily; four great grandchildren: Piper, Braylynn, Beckham and Keenan; and two sisters: Vicki Kerr of Lima and Angie (Robert) Compton of Alger.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Richard Kerr.
Rich worked for Cardinal Bus of Lima. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served from September of 1985 to September of 1989. Rich was a member of the Moose Lodge of Lima, Eagles Post of Lima and the VFW Post of Lima. He was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan and loved fishing. Rich loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with David Holbrook officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard. It was Rich’s wish to be cremated.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Monday, February 3 at the funeral home.
